Wilbur Willis Wesche, 93 of Ridgeville Corners Ohio passed away peacefully at his residence on April 21, 2013.

Wilbur retired from Zellers of Defiance Ohio in 1985 after 38 years. He was a member of The Zion Lutheran Church where he was an active member serving as deacon and treasurer. He was also a member of the Ridgeville Corners Fire Department and the American Legion Post # 454. He served his country in World War II where he was an Arial Engineer in the Pacific. Wilbur was a champion showman of fancy rabbits...

Wilbur Willis Wesche, 93 of Ridgeville Corners Ohio passed away peacefully at his residence on April 21, 2013.

Wilbur retired from Zellers of Defiance Ohio in 1985 after 38 years. He was a member of The Zion Lutheran Church where he was an active member serving as deacon and treasurer. He was also a member of the Ridgeville Corners Fire Department and the American Legion Post # 454. He served his country in World War II where he was an Arial Engineer in the Pacific. Wilbur was a champion showman of fancy rabbits and also enjoyed raising pheasants and pigeons.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents Carl J. Wesche and Emma Breininger and his siblings Edna Meek, Paul, Victor, Orville and Charles Wesche.

He is survived by sisters Lillian Turczyns of Southgate Michigan, Irene Streit of Denver Colorado, nephews and niece Larry (Susan) Wesche, Greg (Mary) Wesche, Debra Schnitkey and other numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.


Calling hours will be held at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home Thursday April 25, 2013, from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm with a Henry County Volunteer Fireman's Memorial Service to be held at 7pm. Funeral Service for Wilbur is Friday April 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church of Ridgeville Corners with Pastor Alvia Martis officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery where military honors will be accorded to Wilbur by the U.S. Army and the American Legion Post #454 of Ridgeville Corners.

Memorials can be made to Ridgeville Corners Fire Department, Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post # 454 of Ridgeville Corners, or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home of Napoleon, Oh.
